ACAF Pavement Awards
For decades, a high point of the Annual Convention is the presentation of the ACAF Pavement Awards. These pavements are rated at the District Level by FDOT personnel, and must meet minimum quality characteristics in both Ride and Mix Quality to be even considered for an award. Some of these projects are eligible for District Pavement Awards. Finalists in the A.P. Bolton and Resurfacing Awards are rated by a consultant to select the Statewide Winners.
A.P. BOLTON AWARD: New construction, reconstruction, or major overlay on Interstate or multi-lane primary highway with 30,000 tons minimum.

Rural Resurfacing (may include widening but not additional lanes). State primary highway or rural county highway. 10,000 tons minimum or equivalent of 5 miles of 24’ roadway. Rural is defined as 51.0% or more of the project has paved shoulders.
